Jan & Tom Wightman Goldsmiths

We both trained in the art of designing and making jewellery, at two different colleges, before setting up our own business to design and make jewellery professionally in 1980. We are a brother and sister partnership, sharing a passion for style and quality in our work; Jan produces the varied and individual designs, Tom produces the skilled and intricate craftsmanship.

Jan studied a degree in designing and making jewellery and silver at Sheffield School of Art & Design, achieving a BA Hons Degree. She continued the study of gemstones with a Diploma, becoming a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain.

Tom trained more classically at the Birmingham School of Jewellery, specialising in Diamond Mounting and achieved a Diploma and Higher Diploma to become a CGLIAC. He has since become a Fellow of the highly respected Institute of Professional Goldsmiths, FIPG.

These two different perspectives give us a broad spectrum of designing and making skills. Each having knowledge and experience built up over many years, in producing varied styles, which include both classic and contemporary designs.

We have always designed and made our jewellery to the highest standards, using fine traditional hand-making techniques, but equally, we embrace new technologies as they evolve. Our intention has always been, and always will be, customer satisfaction. From a  repair or restyle to a Bespoke piece of jewellery, our aim is always to please.

We both still spend the majority of our working time either at the bench or the drawing board, creating our unique and inspired pieces. A combined experience of over sixty years as professional goldsmiths gives us an edge with the design and realisation of our work.

We will design and make your special piece to suit you and your individual lifestyle.
