Mythical Properties
As Tanzanite was only discovered in 1967 a long mythology has not been built up about this stone.

Healing properties *
As a healing stone, Tanzanite is not particularly highly regarded. It is supposed to enhance powers of the mind and heart. It is also supposed to aid with communication.

Price
Tanzanites rarity and the limited amounts left to be mined mean that it has a high value. As with most stones the shade of colour the stone exhibits determines the price. As a rule of thumb the darker the stone the more valuable. As with all stones the level of inclusions and cutting also are a major price determinant.
