The Institute is the top qualifying body in the manufacturing gold and silver trade. It also develops and assists positive and acceptable methods of training, as well as good professional conduct.
It was founded by likeminded people concerned about the fast diminishing jewellery and silverware trades and the resultant loss of skills in these related areas. It is exclusively devoted to promoting, encouraging and maintaining the very highest standards of craftsmanship in the U.K and Ireland.
All members are practising craftsmen and women recognised for their high standard of professional accomplishment.
The IPG is autonomous, free of all external controls and self-financing.
